Called To Serve

Saying goodbye to our ward mission leader (he's moving to Florida)
October 28, 2018
"This week was a lot better than most. I was able to recognize a little more why I need to be here. A lot of that realization came from reading my patriarichal blessing and feeling love from you guys back home.

Something I had a lot of fun doing this week was telling everyone that I used to be an actor in the States! HAHA! This one lady who I told was an actor (and she believed me haha) said that the people hear will want to listen to my message even though "my Tagalog sucks because I'm so good looking" it was kind of an insult and a compliment at the same time... but I just took it as a compliment haha.

I may have taught a ghost this last week.... LET ME EXPLAIN:
So me and my companion were headed to teach this young women named Jenny, who hasn't been home these last few visits. So we have been talking to her father the past few times. But anyway both of them have mentioned in the past that Jenny's mom has passed away-- so we get there and we yell "tao po" (which is like knocking on someone's door here) and this unfamilar face pokes her head out the window and so we introduce ourselves and ask her name-- she says "Julia, I'm Jenny's mom." Me and my companion's jaws dropped to the floor. We very cautiously asked if we can share a message with her and she let us so if she was a ghost at least she was a nice one. HAHA!

This week was really good for me I hope it was for the rest of you! I love you all so much! Thanks for writing me! Know that I do read all of them! It's hard to reply to everyone though so just know that I appreciate them and I'm sorry if I don't get to you!

A member (Rogine) in Kyle's area sent me some pictures. His message said, "Hello Sister, this is Bro Rogine from the Philippines where Elder McDonald is serving. He is a great missionary with his companion Elder Weaver. He is learning so fast. His tagalog is amazing. He is nice."
I asked for pictures of the apartment where he lives. He sent me these pictures:
